Breaking news: IBN7, IBN Lokmat offices attacked by Shiv Sena

In a shocking development, suspect Shiv Sainiks have attacked the IBN7 and IBN Lokmat offices in Mumbai at Vikhroli.

CNN-IBN reports that a group of 15 people entered the premises and attacked journalists. Two attackers have been held by IBN staffers.  Sandeep Chavan, a journalist from IBN Lokmat said that several journalists have been injured. The attackers gave no reason for the violence. All they said is that they wouldn't tolerate any criticism of the Shiv Sena on the channels.

Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief, CNN-IBN who came on air minutes after the attack took place, said, "This is a direct attack on the media. In the past, anybody who have reported fairly on the political circles has been at the receiving end of such attacks. It is not just the Shiv Sena, even the Congress and the NCP has been upset over the fair reportage by both the channels during the Maharashtra state assembly elections. This attack demonstrates a new low in Maharashtra politics."
