IIM Mumbai opens submissions for a new PR agency

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM) Mumbai, a part of Ministry of Education in India, is scouting for a public relations agency, officially inviting expressions of interest. Campaign understands the pitch is in its final leg.

Participating agencies are required to have prior experience working with the central government organisations as their official public relations agency and should be empanelled with National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) or Broadcast Engineering Consultants of India (BECIL) as a PR or social media agency. Interested agencies must have prior work experience in the education sector as well.

The work scope will have the chosen agency handle IIM Mumbai’s digital media presence including around-the-clock management for all social media accounts across various platforms, and maintaining the B-school’s major presence online.

The winning agency will also be given the mandate to work on print media, events, and outdoor branding, as well as filmmaking. They will also lead the rebranding efforts, creating a comprehensive strategy to smoothly communicate IIM Mumbai’s recent transition from NITIE to IIM Mumbai.

In August 2023 the Indian Parliament approved the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023. Consequently, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) was renamed Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). This change occurred as the institute celebrated its Diamond Jubilee year, marking its official entry into the prestigious group of globally recognised IIMs.

Originally established in 1963 by the Government of India with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Labor Organisation (ILO), the institute formerly known as NITIE has consistently been ranked among India's top business schools. In the 2022 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), IIM Mumbai was ranked 9th among management institutes nationwide.
