O&M's new TVC for Pond's says switch to face wash

Ogilvy & Mather has come up with a new TVC for Pond's daily facewash.

The TVC opens with three friends who walk in to surprise a friend on her birthday with a cake in hand. The friends sit together and cut the cake spreading the cake on each others faces. They then go to the wash-room together to clean their faces.

A girl picks-up a bar of soap to clean the cake off her face, which surprises the other girl who shows her the Ponds face wash tube which leads to the other girl throwing the bar of soap away. The TVC ends with the girls applying the face wash together in front of the mirror in the wash-room. The voiceover stresses the importance of using Pond's daily fairwash as soap maybe to harsh for the facial skin.

Talking about the campaign, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, executive creative director, O&M told Campaign India, "The new Ponds face wash ad goes back to the basics of how and why the product works, why you need it in the first place, and the fact that it's a better option for your face than soap. The film attempts to communicate all this with a fresh, youthful vibe that's in keeping with the age profile of its target audience. It captures a fun occasion in a college girl's life, a birthday surprise arranged by friends, highlighting the bonding with buddies that is so much a part of this phase of life."

The film has been shot by Bosco and the production house is Bang Bang Films.
