Honda has introduced its newly launched small car, Brio, with a campaign that essentially tries to communicate its message through the tagline, 'It loves you back'.

The TVC has been created by Grey India after they won the account in a multi-agency pitch.

The film shows a guy who's more or less head over heals for a girl. So while he is driving his sky-blue hued Honda Brio, he is reminiscing all the precious moments he has spent with the girl till he reaches a food joint where he finds the love of his life with another guy. The next moment he looks at his Brio, smiles shyly and realises that it's his car that has always returned his love back and he forgets about the girl altogether and drives away.

Speaking about the idea behind the plot of this TVC, Amit Shankar, executive creative director, Grey Delhi, said, "Most of the automobile ads are feature led or you'd see the car randomly running on the streets. We wanted people to remember the ad for a lot more than just its features, hence we wanted it to have some sort of emotional chord. With love comes expectations, reciprocation. One-sided love always waits for a day of redemption. Therefore, we wanted to project that this is one car that you'd fall in love with and more importantly, it'll love you back."

The theme of the TVC was in sync with Honda's philosophy, which is, 'Man maximum, Machine minimum', he added.

On the execution front, Vishnu Srivatsav, executive creative director, Grey Delhi, mentioned, "We didn't want the commercial to a typical mushy glitzy glamorous one. Even while shooting, we wanted to make sure that both the storylines (the story of the guy and the girl and that of the guy and his car) run parallel to each other and yet there's less stress on the part where the girl leaves the guy and more on the guy's love for the car which is being reciprocated as well. Even the track was composed to match the edit."

Simply put, everyone loves their car, only this car loves you back, he added.
