Association of Indian Magazines names Anant Nath as president
Anant Nath, executive publisher, Delhi Press, has been elected as president of the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM).
 
Nath replaces B Srinivasan, MD, Ananda Vikatan, who led AIM for the last three years.
 
Manoj Sharma, CEO - publishing, India Today Group, has been named as vice president of the body. 
 
Other office bearers include Dhaval Gupta as the general secretary, and Annurag Batra as the treasurer.
 
Also discussed at the AGM was the improvement of the distribution system for magazines and it was agreed by the publishers body that the main focus for the industry should remain on strengthening the distribution system for magazines, with an emphasis on subscriptions marketing through innovative channels and partnerships with e-commerce players.
 
To take this forward, the committee discussed an initiative through which it wants to create a country-wide online magazine market place which can serve as a single point forum for any reader to place orders for single copies as well subscriptions.
