While nobody can refute the growing popularity of sport in our country, the sports marketing space has just a handful of players. With an aim to fill in this need gap, Sportz Network has launched a B2B portal www.sportzpower.com.

Former editor of indiantelevision.com Thomas Abraham, who founded the site, explains the ideology behind launching this product. He says, "The biggest example of the importance of sports is the return of the England cricket team for the test matches to India. All the major players like F1, NBA, FIFA, UEFA are looking at building sports in India."

"According to us, sports is a statement of business opportunity. There is clearly a need gap in the market. This space has not been looked at intelligently and analytically till now," he says.

The website is a bridge between people who deliver sports and people who want to derive marketing value out of it. "We will cover sports from a broadcast business perspective mainly. However, when it comes to a company which is our target audience, anyone in the hierarchy can associate with it," adds Thomas.

The website has been divided into various sections like top news, special features, book corner (which features sports related books), company releases, poll, what's on now, interviews and videos.

The links to the various sections are on the home page itself and the portal is fairly easy to navigate. The website also provides information on broadcast and marketing rights for all major sports properties, sponsorship consulting, sale and servicing, talent management, content production and distribution.
