'Got Talent' has been conceptualised by Simon Cowell, the jury member of American Idol and the brain behind various other format shows, under his company SYCO. The concept has been adapted by various countries including UK and USA.

Speaking to Campaign India, Ashvini Yardi, programming head, Colors said, "We are launching this show to connect further with our viewers. This will be our next big ticket show after Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss 2."

The Indian version of the show will be produced by Synergy Adlabs and will follow the global format. It will conduct auditions throughout the nation to bring forth talent like dancing, singing, stand-up comedy and magic acts.

The nationwide auditions for the show will be held in February and March. The launch date has not been announced yet. The show will have a host and three judges and the final winner will be selected through SMS voting by viewers. The marketing will be rolled out in a phase manner beginning with marketing for the city auditions.

Siddharth Basu, chairman and managing director, Synergy said, "This is a terrific platform to be entertained by imaginative and accomplished performing acts of every kind from all over the country, whether solo or in groups, with true variety- song, music, dance, mimicry, gags, mime, puppetry, ventriloquism, magic - absolutely anything that will entertain and enthral India."
