Kannada news channel Public TV to launch on 26 January

Kannada news television market sees the addition of yet another channel, Public TV. Scheduled to go on-air from 26 January, the news channel is launched by Writemen Media, and will be led by H R Ranganath, chairman and managing editor of the company.

Commenting on the launch, Ranganath, said, “The channel will be focusing on the average common man and will be as transparent as we can in its functioning.” He also informed the company is now focusing only on the launch of the news channel, and will announce their expansions over the next few months.

The channel has roped in S Divaakar, who had worked in the capacity of assistant general manager -sales and marketing with TV9 Network, as vice president – sales and marketing to head the business side of the channel.
