Meenakshi Bhalla, president, Ogilvy Public Relations India has given up her PR role within the Ogilvy group. Bhalla, who was heading the agency’s public relations wing since December 2005, has been with the Ogilvy group since March 1991.
When contacted, an Ogilvy executive who did not wish to be quoted said, “Bhalla has relinquished her public relations role within Ogilvy but is exploring further opportunities within the group.”
Although sources within the agency have told Campaign India that Bhalla has called it quits, when contacted by Campaign India, Bhalla denied that she was leaving the company and said, “Public relations was never meant to be a long term role as far as I was concerned. The idea was to start off a company and see it through. I have been offered the chance to return to advertising but I am still exploring my options.”
