To launch own venture in 'new media' by June 2016

Sakal group COO Shailesh Amonkar quits
Shailesh Amonkar, group chief operating officer, Sakal Media Group, has put in his papers at the organisation.

Amonkar's last day at Sakal will be 31 March 2016. He joined the media group four years ago and handled the marketing and sales functions along with new business initiatives.

Amonkar said, "I move on after a successful tenure with Sakal and look forward to taking the luxury of a short sabbatical for around a month. I will be turning entrepreneur in the new media space and should roll out my next initiative by June 2016."

This was Amonkar's second stint at Sakal Media Group, having left the organisation in 2006. He has also worked with The Times of India Group (BCCL), and had set up his own media venture, Kemistry Media Solutions in the past.
