Genesis Burson-Marsteller, WordsWork announce strategic partnership for sports, luxury segments

Public relations firm Genesis Burson-Marsteller (GBM) has announced a strategic partnership with WordsWork, a specialty communication firm.

They will combine strengths to offer solutions to existing and upcoming sports and luxury clients in India, disclosed a joint statement.

On the occasion, Prema Sagar, principal and founder of Genesis Burson-Marsteller, said, “It’s a delight to be working with a young and dynamic firm that defines itself so well in the sports and luxury communications space. The segment is niche and growing, and our joint focus will be to leverage their expertise with the scale of execution and pan-India network that Genesis Burson-Marsteller can provide.”

Currently, GBM operates its business in four different practice areas: brand and consumer, corporate and financial, technology and telecom, and health and wellness.

Sagar told Campaign India, “Our partnership with Wordswork focuses on communication in the sports and luxury sectors, which will be developed as specialised areas within the brand and consumer practice.”

On the opportunity in the sports and luxury sectors, she noted that they were niche and growing. “There aren’t any public relations and communication firms in this sector that can offer a combination of deep domain expertise and scale of network and operations, which are required to leverage this sector to its full potential. With a large number of international luxury brands coming into India, we can help create and nurture strong connections between consumers and these brands by carefully crafting messaging and rich content that makes it relevant and topical in the Indian consumer’s mind,” explained Sagar.

She pointed to new sporting events and formats being launched in India, giving rise to association possibilities for clients.

On the development, Neha Mathur Rastogi, founder, WordsWork, said, “We are very proud to be chosen as preferred partners of one of India’s most respected strategic integrated communication consultancies. Together with Genesis B-M’s global resources and our shared passion for the art of communication, we will bring reach, scale, and a wide range of integrated services for our clients adding much needed value to these sunrise sectors.”
