Edelman aims to expand India presence

Edelman has announced its intention of looking beyond its current three-city presence in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, with the opening of new offices from 1 October 2011. These will be in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.

According to the firm, "Recent client programmes supporting the Indian market entry of iconic brands such as Harley-Davidson, LinkedIn and Cadbury Kraft Foods’ Oreo and Tang have underscored the need to strengthen presence in cities like Chennai and Hyderabad, which are also major media and business hubs."

“We are hiring in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune to bolster our presence across the market. These resources are intended to service our existing client base as attention shifts beyond the main metros, and we will build on this structure per our needs and requirements in each city,” said Robert Holdheim, Managing Director, Edelman India.

“This expansion is further indication of our commitment to the Indian PR market, as well as the added value we offer clients. We believe we are setting new benchmarks and standards in the strategic and digital communications space in India. Our recent wins will help us reinforce our presence as we continue to invest in talent, infrastructure and new business,” added David Brain, President and CEO, Edelman Asia Pacific.

New clients won by Edelman recently include Avaya, Business Software Alliance (BSA), British Airways, Crazeal by Groupon Inc. (USA), JPSI (F1 India), Monsanto, Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN), Nikon, Neurometrix, Red Bull and Oerlikon Solar among others.
