OgilvyOne Worldwide bags Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Award

Tribal DDB emerges with the most number of awards in the categories.

OgilvyOne Worldwide bags Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Award

The second annual  Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Award 2011 saw a huge number of participants across nine categories, and as grand as the beginning, was the end. OgilvyOne Worldwide bagged the Yahoo! Big Idea Chair Awards and the Digital 360 degree gold award for its captivating and user-engaging digital campaign titled Photography Case for Fox Crime.

Talking about the win, Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and creative director, South Asia Ogilvy & Mather India said, “It always feel great and I feel extremely happy that earlier this year I had on behalf of the company promised to invest in digital and that we are going to get digital excellence. But I didn’t know that in 10 months time we will be able to do it. We will continue to invest and learn. Life is about new challenges and we will work towards it. Hopefully, we will win a lot many Yahoo Big Idea Chair awards.”

Adding to his point, Graham Kelly, executive creative director, OgilvyOne Worldwide and also one of the jury members of Yahoo! Big Idea Chair awards 2011 said, “We had sent entries to only six categories, and we won half of them so we are very happy on this. As part of the jury, we saw lovely work from other agencies. The decision was obviously very tough. However, what we realise is that Indian digital advertising will see a lot many brilliant works in the near future.”

While Ogilvy bagged the honours, Tribal DDB too raked in appreciation by winning four  awards at the event. Tribal DDB India won two Gold awards for the Best Use of Display Advertising and the Best Use of Technology for its ‘This Banner with a mission’ campaign created for Star TV. It also bagged two silver awards for Best Online Video Advertising for its Silent National Anthem and Best Online Video Advertising for Idea Roadies campaign.

While Contract Advertising won the Gold for Best Online Video Advertising for its Rakshabandhan Campaign for Cadbury Celebrations, OgilvyOne Worldwide bagged the Gold for Best Use of Social Media for its The Zoozoo World campaign created for Vodafone Essar. Maxus India won the Gold for Best Use of Search award for its Buzz Metrics TV, Print and Search campaign.

On winning the most number of awards, Behzad Gazder, Group Head Art, Tribal DDB said, “It’s nice to be recognised by everyone for the efforts put in by my team. Winning by whiskers is all part of the competition. OgilvyOne obviously deserved the award.” Asked if he feels that OgilvyOne has set the bar to high for others to compete, Gazder retorted confidently, “you don’t know what we are capable of!”

Arun Tadanki, managing director, Yahoo! India said, “Yahoo! Big Idea Chair celebrates the growth of the digital media industry which today offers one of the widest creative canvasses to brand marketers to execute cutting edge campaigns. The entries this year clearly demonstrated deep integration of digital in the campaign planning stage of the different brands and a definite step forward in the evolution of digital media.”

Nitin Mathur, senior director marketing, Yahoo! India added, “Digital media and advertising is here to stay. It is growing at 30%, one of the fastest amongst other industry. However, having said that the proportion of money been injected in is not yet impressive. We would like to see it grow at a faster pace. The level of creativity we adjudged during the decision making proves that the time is now.  So it’s time for us to be bullish about digital.”
