Wieden + Kennedy resigns GM business
Wieden + Kennedy is believed to have resigned the GM business it won last year. The agency handled Chevrolet Cruze, the soon-to-be-launched Chevrolet Beat and the company’s corporate account which it had won last year. Campaign India has learnt from reliable sources that the agency has given up the automobile major’s business. It is not known why the agency has resigned the account; Wieden + Kennedy refused to comment on the story when contacted. It is expected that the resigned accounts would be up for a pitch soon.
W+K India to drive creative work for Chevy’s ‘Cruise’
W+K India is believed to have bagged the creative duties for Chevrolet Cruise, a luxury sedan expected to hit the Indian market soon. The agency will also handle yet another ‘new mini car’ from Chevrolet’s stable, the name of which is not yet known.General Motors (GM) had called for a creative pitch for its sedan brand Chevrolet Cruise in April this year and various agencies including Publicis Ambience, Leo Burnett, McCann Erickson and W+K were involved in the pitch.
Pepsi ends endorsement ties with David Beckham
Close on the heels of General Motors ending its relationship with golf player Tiger Woods, PepsiCo has terminated its endorsement agreement with English soccer star David Beckham. Beckham has been associated with Pepsi since last 10 years."We wish David well with the many projects he is pursuing and look forward to the possibility of partnering together with him again someday," said PepsiCo in an official statement.
