Breaking news: Colors becomes 'Aapka Colors' in the US
Viacom18 has announced the launch of its flagship channel Colors, in the United States. The channel will be known as 'Aapka Colors'. Distributed through the Dish Network, Aapka Colors aims to entertain the South Asian community residing in the U.S. with its blend of entertainment through scripted series, reality shows, game shows and Bollywood films.Introducing the channel and its key shows and characters to the Hindi speaking diaspora in the US, will be the channel's brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan.
GECs unite to face producers
It was a historic moment when the top GEC players of India assembled under one roof to announce that there will be re-runs of all the television shows (except for Colors' Big Boss) because of the issue of demand of increase in production costs by the producers. The producers, in turn, are asked by FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) to increase the wages of the workers of the TV shows.
