Deborah Malone named IAA’s new president and executive director

Deborah Malone, founder of advertising, publishing and events house The Internationalist, has been named president and executive director of the International Advertising Association (IAA). The IAA is comprised of Corporate Members, Organizational Members, Educational Affiliates, as well as 56 chapters with individual members and young professionals from 76 countries including the top 10 economies in the world.

Welcoming the appointment, Kaushik Roy, president - India chapter, IAA, said, “Malone is well known by the Indian advertising fraternity and her first-hand knowledge of India would go a long way to push through initiatives relevant to the region.”

Commenting about her new role, Malone added, “This is a commitment to an industry that I love. It is an honour to help evolve its important role in connecting people, places and ideas.  I seek to help the

IAA integrate the tremendous talents of this industry-- from advertisers who rely on its vitality for economic development, the media which is so important to social development and education, and the agencies and partners that innovate on behalf of brands and inspire the messages that create value.”

On the appointment, Alan Rutherford, chairman, IAA, said, “Deborah is an ideal leader for a contemporary IAA. She is a successful entrepreneur with both vision and the ability to get things done.  Her dedication to our industry and her global fluency is unparalleled.”
