Vodka brand Absolut sues Absolute Radio
Swedish vodka brand Absolut is suing Absolute Radio, formerly Virgin Radio, claiming it is infringing on its trademark.The vodka brand, which is owned by V&S Vin&Sprit, will attempt to force the radio station, owned by The Times of India Group, to ditch its name. The drinks brand claims that it is confusing consumers because the name is too similar to its own vodka brand.
TIML converts Virgin to Absolute Radio
TIML has announced the launch plans of its music and entertainment brand, Absolute. The new brand has radio and digital at its core and a new presenter line up. The company is diversifying the business into new areas for its 5 million strong existing listeners and users, which will include areas such as stand alone branded properties, event ownership, TV and customer transactions like music subscriptions, downloads and ticketing. As reported by Campaign India earlier, the brand identity will be developed by Albion.
