Indian agencies battle it out at Adfest 2010

Three Indian agencies win Lotus Roots
Contract ("New National Animal" for Sanctuary Magazine), Taproot ("Colors of India", Conqueror Papers) and Ogilvy & Mather ("Stamps" for India Post) earned themselves Lotus Roots at Adfest 2010 in Tokyo. The category rewards ideas that strongly reflect cultural elements from the region, whether through lifestyles, customs, beliefs, or other aspects. Other Indian agencies didn't come back empty handed, with JWT India, Leo Burnett, Publicis and Creativeland winning metals in various categories. The details are given below:
Adfest 2010 postponed due to Thailand's political unrest
Adfest 2010 has been postponed. The annual advertising festival, which had announced the dates for this year’s festival recently, has attributed the postponement to the current political situation in Thailand.
Pradeep Guha is vice chairman for Adfest 2010
Pradeep Guha has been named the vice chairman for the 2010 Adfest. In addition, four Indians have made it to the Adfest 2010 jury. Contract’s Ravi Deshpande is the jury president for Direct. He is also a jury member for 360 Lotus, Innova and Lotus. McCann Erickson’s Anil Thomas is a jury member for Film and Radio. Grandmother India’s Kurnal Rawat is a jury member for Design and Print Craft. Sabyasachi Sengupta of Gingerwater Films, is a jury member for Film Craft and New Director Lotus.
