O&M hits a half century; JWT at 24
O&M regained its supremacy in the metal sweepstake bagging a total of 50 metals at Goafest ‘09. O&M’s tally includes eight Golds, 17 Silvers and 25 Bronzes.
“Brand evangelists are like allies:” Starcom MediaVest’s Finnegan
Sean Finnegan, chief digital officer, Starcom MediaVest Group spoke about the dichotomy of control that brand owners face in today’s age where technology allows consumers to initiate a two way conversation with brands which comes with its own risks. Finnegan began his presentation with an example of user generated content that was created centered on Coca Cola. The viral is a short spoof on Coke wanting to sell the idea of “their story” to consumers and inviting a character called Dusty to their headquarters in Atlanta.
Media Abbys 2009: Mindshare tops, Madison follows
Mindshare India has yet again swept the Goafest Media Abbys ’09 by winning ten metals including two Golds; five silvers and three bronzes. Other GroupM agencies performed well too with Maxus bagging five metals, including a Gold for ‘20 million experiences in 10 seconds’ for Tata Sky, and Mediaedge:cia getting one.
A taste of Goa, a taste of things to come
We went to the venue yesterday afternoon to see Martin’s team from Seventy looking for things they’d overlooked. And Colvyn Harris, Bhaskar Das and Madhukar Kamath looking for things Seventy might have overlooked.Went to the venue this morning, and Goafest hasn’t been better. The organization of Goafest, that is. Everything done, not a wire or cable out of place. The bars stocked (there’s no Old Monk, though). The airconditioning at the seminar hall is like an oasis in the middle of the Sahara. Every thing works like clockwork.
Creative Abby jury heads for Film, Film Craft and Design named
The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club Bombay have announced the names of jury chairpersons for the categories – Film, Film Craft and Design for the Creative Abby awards to be held at Goafest 2009.
