BBDO opens in Pakistan

BBDO has announced the opening of an office in Lahore, to be headed up by Aamir Allibhoy as general manager and Medeeha Noor as executive creative director.

The agency already has a major client in Pepsi, having recently won the 'Flavours' business, including the 7 Up, Mountain Dew and Sting brands. Pepsi is Pakistan's No. 1 beverage brand, according to Nielsen.

BBDO Pakistan joins an affiliate, Manhattan International, which has been operating in Karachi since 1989.

Allibhoy has 10 years of BBDO experience, including work with Pepsi. Noor is moving over from Ogilvy & Mather Pakistan, bringing experience with clients including Coca-Cola and Nestle. The two will report to Dani Richa, chairman of Impact BBDO for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan.

“Expanding into this emerging market will play a vital role for our future growth within the region,” Chris Thomas, chairman and chief executive officer for BBDO Asia, Middle East and Africa, said in a statement.  “BBDO will bring to Pakistan strong creative and strategic leadership, becoming part of a global network that prides itself on creating the world’s most compelling commercial content for its clients.”
