Media Direction seems to have had a decent year with fairly significant account wins and new appointments.

The agency has hired Himanshu Shah as GM for Digital Direction to beef up its digital wing. It also appointed Rahul Shrivastava as GM for Media Direction south and Kishor Nihphadkar as GM, finance. Sunita Satapathy called it quits to join Starcom as GM.

The agency managed to bag accounts like Siemens, Bharat Matrimony, Amrutanjan, Apollo Hospitals, Visa International and ASK Wealth Advisors. However, the agency lost Birla Sunlife which was snared by Mindshare after a multi-agency pitch.

Like the parent company, Media Direction has managed to retain  most of the clients it had at the beginning of the year,  a significant achievement considering the competitive marketplace.

Media Direction’s (unstated) strategy of going after clients with billings of Rs. 10 crore and below is also one that seems to be paying off.

Campaign Score: 6

How MEDIA DIRECTION rates itself: 7

Relaunched in 07, the group has registered an impressive top line growth of 250% in 2 years.

The agency, regrouped under the umbrella of R K SWAMY Media Group with 5 verticals under it which besides Media Direction include Hansa Media Services, Digital Direction, Radio Direction and Hansa Outdoor. With satisfied clients, right leadership with commitment and a positive outlook, it is firmly  placed  on the map of media specialists in the country.
