Dream11 to be IPL 2020's title sponsor

Dream11 picks up the sponsorship rights for Rs 222 crore.

Dream11 to be IPL 2020's title sponsor
The IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has confirmed that Dream11 has won the title sponsorship bid for the IPL in 2020 according to a tweet from PTI.

This follows Vivo pulling out of the deal this year after a public outcry over India-China tensions.

The winning bid is said to be at Rs 222 crore, almost half of the Rs 440 crore Vivo was paying (Rs 2,200 crore over five years).

Dream11 has previously been a sponsor of the tournament and been the official fantasy game.

The BCCI had issued an invitation for expressions of interest (“IEOI”) for IPL's title sponsorship rights for 2020 on 10 August. The rights are available for the period from 18 August to 31 December 2020. Only companies with a turnover for over INR 300 Crores were allowed to pick up the bid.

Other fantasy gaming apps like MyCircle11 has BCCI president Sourav Ganguly as brand ambassador, while Mobile Premier League has Royal Challengers Bangalore's and team India's captain, Virat Kohli as brand ambassador.
