Flipkart.com gets on TV for the first time

After winning the Flipkart.com account three months ago, Happy Creative Services has created the first TVC for the e-commerce portal.

The TVC unfolds like a fairytale and features an old grandmother who is able to magically order books with her pet mouse, much to the amazement of the villagefolk. The ad ends with the voiceover, “You don’t need magic. Just log on to www.flipkart.com.”

“With a rise in e-commerce players, we had to find a simple yet refreshing way to introduce Flipkart.com. Also with the loyalty that Flipkart already enjoys, the challenge was to keep the fan base together while still appealing to a new audience,” said Iyer and Das.

Sachin Bansal, chief executive officer, Flipkart.com, said, “Flipkart.com is fast becoming the preferred destination of book lovers across India. Through this campaign we want to accelerate this momentum, and let even the non-users know about our huge selection of over 10 million books which they can now get delivered at their doorstep.”
