Goafest 2012: Industry conclave opens the annual advertising and media festival

With the who's who of media, advertising and marketing have descended on the beaches of Goa for the annual festival and the industry conclave. Opening the proceedings, Nagesh Alai, president of AAAI, welcomed the delegates and termed the event a “seventh hugely successful Goafest."

Throwing more light on the discussions, Srinivasan Swamy, chairman, Goafest Advertising Conclave, said that in 2012, only half of the advertising spends are going in ATL. On the theme that is ‘Ideas that impact the full circle’, he said from the full circle that is ‘pre-purchase’, ‘purchase’, ‘post-purchase’, the pre-purchase phase is passé. “We have to offer end to end solutions for marketers,” he stated. “Holding companies internationally are called upon for solutions. Ideas that impact this full circle are embraced.”

Arvind Sharma, chairman, Goafest 2012, introduced the speakers who would present their thoughts on the theme.
