Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, chief minister, Maharashtra, congratulated the advertising, marketing and media industry's efforts towards sustainability through a message at the IAA Olive Crown Awards 2023, which were held in Mumbai on 5 April.

Shinde was invited as chief guest for the event but sent a message, since he couldn't attend it.

Here's the note:

My best wishes to all the marketing, media and advertising professionals from across the country.

Marketing and advertising is all about saying the right thing to the right audience. And today, I am happy that you are giving the message of a greener, cleaner planet from this prestigious platform.

The Government is certainly making efforts to protect our soil. But it's not a one-way mission. The participation from society and professionals, intellectuals and communicators like you is also important.

It is certainly appreciable that the industry is putting efforts towards sustainability.

Shinde signed off by congratulating the IAA for organising the event.
