India Today Group has announced the launch of Good News Today, a channel that aims to share only good news with its viewers.

The channel aims to recognise that news doesn’t just have to mean bad news. According to a statement from the India Today Group, the channel will focus on constructive news even in the presence of negative news stories.

The channel is set to launch on 5 September. Good News Today rests on the motto of 'acchi khabar, sacchi khabar'- true stories that foster goodwill and unite audiences in their higher purpose.

Kalli Purie, vice chairperson, India Today Group, said, "I am delighted to introduce Good News Today into the lives of our viewers. Coming off a challenging year, the world needs to come together to unite in stories of human triumph. We all need a source of encouragement and the unique ability to see the good.
