Your weekend reading list

Draftfcb+Ulka's Kartik Smetacek on what he reads

Your weekend reading list

Draftfcb+Ulka's creative director, Kartik Smetacek shared with Campaign India a book that he is currently reading, and a book that has influenced him.

What I’m currently reading:

Solar by Ian McEwan

Set against the backdrop of ‘climate change’, and everything the term connotes, Solar is an brilliantly researched, exquisitely written, unflattering examination of human beings and all their myriad flaws. Quintessential McEwan.

A book that has influenced me:

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig

A tome that was always on my parent’s bookshelf, but one I only encountered years later in my early twenties. (Luckily, in retrospect.) A brave journey of self-discovery, the book is an expansive exploration of philosophy, rationality and religion. Not something you’d read on holiday, but worth the perseverance.
