Delhi HC dismisses petitions filed against Viacom18 and Network18
Delhi High Court, in a single judgment, dismissed petitions filed by MSM Discovery and STARDEN against Viacom18 and Network18 respectively, while also awarding costs to Viacom18 and Network18.
TDSAT rules in favour of Viacom18
TDSAT today passed an order on Viacom18’s plea against MSM Discovery, the summary of which is:· TDSAT restrains MSM Discovery from interfering in Sun18 operations. · TDSAT restrains MSM Discovery from representing Viacom18 channels any more.
Bombay High Court refuses to grant any order against Sun18
Sun18, the strategic alliance between the Sun Group and Network18, has officially commenced operations and will distribute a total of 33 channels from Viacom18, Sun TV Network, Disney India Network and Network18. Recently, MSM Discovery filed a petition against Viacom18 to stop the Viacom18 channels from moving out of their ‘One Alliance’ bouquet. However, Bombay High Court refused to grant any order in favour of MSM Discovery, and therefore Sun18 operations remain unaffected. The matter has been posted for hearing on August 17, 2010.
