Mumbai-based integrated digital marketing agency Django has invested in Extra, a creative agency that provides services including art direction, branding, social media marketing, and video production. The value or the other details of the transaction have not been revealed.

Founded in 2020 by Kajol Somaya, Niloni Pomal, and Priyal Kashyap, Extra is a multidisciplinary studio that aims to help entrepreneurs build or reinvent their brand identities through engaging storytelling campaigns and impactful designs.

Shivang Shah, founder, Django, said, “Niloni, who is extremely good with their designs, has been working with us since Django was founded. She wanted to move out to start her venture. This further opens up Django’s branding capabilities to what they have been. Most of our branding projects will be done in collaboration with Extra. More so, Niloni knows how Django operates so that it will be a smoother method of operating.”

Extra has worked primarily with owner-led brands across sectors, including alcoholic beverages, FMCG, fintech, fashion, and real estate. Its clients include Netflix, Sprite, Acko, and a few of the brands from the Reliance Group. Founded in 2019, Django offers integrated digital solutions, including performance media, influencer marketing, website development, branding, and content production to brands. Some of its clients include Swiggy Dineout, Bergner Cookware, Neutrogena, My11Circle, Royce Chocolates, and Society Tea.

Django invested in Extra soon after its rebranding last month. As part of the rebranding exercise, it changed its earlier name, ‘Django Digital,’ to ‘Django.’ The agency dropped ‘Digital’ from its name to indicate the evolution of its services portfolio in recent years. Its services include affiliate marketing, creative brand campaigns, influencer marketing, performance marketing, photoshoots and film production, social media management, website building, and SEO.

Last year, the company hired Natasha Bhatia as chief brand officer and secured several major mandates for brands like Swiggy Dineout and Nilons. The partnership will provide the Django teams with Additional access to new client bases across sectors.

Niloni Pomal, co-founder of Extra, said, “We are thrilled to have Django Digital as a partner on our journey. This partnership is centred on collaboration, mentorship, and unlocking new growth opportunities. With Django’s support, we will scale new heights, deliver more impactful campaigns, and create work that truly resonates with our audience.”
