Gillette Venus meets Prajakta Koli, Barkha Singh and Sanjana Sanghi’s BFFs

Gillette Venus, the female hair removal brand, has rolled out a campaign titled #LoveYouToVenusAndBack for Friendship Day, which was celebrated on 7 August. Conceptualised by FoxyMoron, the film features digital creators Prajakta Koli, Barkha Singh and Sanjana Sanghi, who acknowledge their best friends for helping them overcome their fears and inhibitions.

Each of the creators engage in a candid chat with their best friends. They reminisce about their time shooting, how they felt intimidated at some point and how they were pulled back up by their best friends. To express their gratitude, they get their best friends a little something in a Gillette Venus box, to help their friends get over their own fears, for a change. Kohli’s best friend gets a mic to help her get over her fear of karaoke, while Singh gets hers a hula hoop to encourage her let loose. Sanghi, on the other hand, puts a sticker on her best friend’s face, urging her to go wild.

In the final round of surprise, they give their best friends the Venus razor, to let them try hair removal with it, for the first time. Even with all the doubts they have about hair growing back thicker and skin getting darker, the creators reassure them that it’ll all be fine.

Saurabh Bajpai, senior director and country category leader, Gillette India, said, “At Gillette Venus we have always aimed to make every girl feel comfortable and confident in her own skin. We understand that she reaches out to her friends and peers for every small and big thing in her life. Through the campaign video, we want to celebrate these friends who are the biggest support system and make sure that she doesn't give into her fears but rather stands by us as we tackle them. As a brand looking out for young girls, we took it upon ourselves to ensure she tells her friend, #LoveYouToVenusAndBack this Friendship Day.”
