‘Zero calorie’ Lipton Green Tea promises to get consumers ‘light and active’

Watch the ad film conceptualised by DDB Mudra

HUL has launched a TV campaign for Lipton Green Tea featuring Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. The ad film conceptualised by DDB Mudra went on air on 4 February on GECs.

The film highlights the zero calorie attribute of Lipton Green Tea, positioning it as a better alternative to regular tea. Sharma, seated in a café, works on her laptop with two of her friends. Each of them is seriously involved in their work. Sipping Lipton Green Tea (zero calorie, different from regular tea) brings a smile to Sharma’s face, even as a gentle breeze signals her ‘transformation’. As the three walk past a bunch of kids playing on the street, the refreshed Sharma decides to join them. The visuals capture her jumping up, in line with a voice over that says every sip of the beverage will leave one ‘light and active’.

Ashwath Swaminathan, regional marketing manager, Hindustan Unilever Limited, said, “We believe there is a great fit between Anushka and the Lipton – Lipton is a bright, curious and spirited brand and Anushka embodies all of this. Sunshine is a word I would use to describe both Lipton and Anushka. Watch this come alive in our latest campaign on Lipton green tea.”
Ashish Kharwatkar, creative director, DDB Mudra West, said, "All of us wish to lead a healthy lifestyle but we either don't know where to start, or are not sure if we can commit to a fitness regime. So why not, at least, change the tea we drink to green tea? Because, unlike regular chai, Lipton Green Tea contains no calories. Besides a light and refreshing taste, a few cups a day can keep giving you little boosts of energy and help you get through the day with a smile on your face. And that's exactly we have tried to capture in our TV commercial; a busy day in the life of an office-going young woman lightened up by Lipton Green Tea.”

The campaign will also straddle digital and outdoor media.
