IAA India Chapter institutes Leadership Awards for ad, marketing and media pros

The International Advertising Association’s (IAA) India Chapter has announced the institution of the IAA Leadership Awards, to honour individuals in the fields of marketing, advertising and media.

The first edition of the annual awards property will be hosted in Mumbai in February 2013. IAA has roped in Manish Tewari, Union Minister of State (independent charge) of Information and Broadcasting, as the chief guest.

The IAA expects 500 senior marketing, advertising and media professionals from across the country on the awards night.

The IAA Leadership Awards will look to recognise 'an individual’s innovative thinking and performance excellence leading to success of the product/brand'.

Commenting on the awards, Srinivasan Swamy, president, International Advertising Association, India Chapter, said, “The IAA Leadership Awards salutes the brilliance of top professionals whose contribution makes our industry what it is. These annual awards, over time will be seen as the most coveted recognition an industry practitioner will receive for all his hard work and leadership qualities, that brought about success to the product/brand.”

Winners will be decided in a two-stage process. The first stage will see nominations and shortlisting by marketing, media and advertising professionals; the second, final stage will be done through a voting process amongst those shortlisted by senior industry peers.

IAA has appointed marketing research company The Nielsen Company to execute the nomination and voting process. Ernst & Young has been appointed to audit and validate the process.
