Salman Khan has returned in his ‘Chulbul Pandey’ avatar for a second ad film for Suzuki Hayate. Last June, the two-wheeler brand had released a campaign featuring Khan in the same character.
Created by RK Swamy BBDO, the film shows Khan manoeuvring his Hayate on the streets of South India. It also features screen villian Kota Srinivasa Rao playing the role of 'Gundappa'.
Gundappa and his gang are selling movie tickets in ‘black’. A constable informs Khan about this. When he confronts them, Khan is chased by Gungappa’s gang. Like he does on screen, Khan manages to arrest the bad guy, this time with the help of his Hayate. The TVC ends with Khan mouthing the tagline: 'Suzuki Hayate, yun hi nahi chalate'.
On the campaign, Anu Anamika, national head - marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “The first TVC with Salman was a thundering success. Salman’s Dabangg persona in the TVC helped extend Suzuki Hayate’s appeal across segments. Since Suzuki is a pan-India brand, we thought of giving the campaign a different treatment with a South-Indian twist. We hope we are able to replicate the success of previous campaign and expand our reach to customers.”
Sunil Kukreti, senior partner, RK Swamy BBDO, said, “The entire campaign has been conceptualised keeping in mind the target audience, which resides in rural and semi-urban peripheries. We wanted to play along this well-embedded imagery and create a unique blend of North and South. This new TVC gets even bigger and more entertaining.”
The campaign will seen across media including television, cinema, radio and print.
