CA Media appoints Rajesh Kamat as India CEO

CA Media has appointed Rajesh Kamat as chief executive officer, CA Media, India. Kamat will join CA Media in July 2011. He was most recently the COO of Viacom18 Group and CEO of Colors.

Kamat will lead CA Media in establishing a diversified Indian media and entertainment company. CA Media will develop Indian operations principally in television and film content; family entertainment; digital media; sports and leisure; and education. Kamat will report to Paul Aiello, CEO of CA Media.
 
Commenting on Kamat's appointment, Paul Aiello, chief executive officer, CA Media, said, "Rajesh Kamat is one of the most talented executives in India, and he has consistently proven his ability to take risks, innovate, and create significant value. We’re excited to have him join CA Media as we work to create a business of scale that will take advantage of the changing landscape of the Indian media and entertainment industry.”

On his appointment at CA Media, Kamat, said, “The Indian media, entertainment, and technology industries are bustling with the potential for acceleration and transformation. My assignment to build CA Media's Indian business provides me with a unique opportunity to capitalize on such trends as an entrepreneur, in partnership with global industry leaders like Peter and Paul.”
 
CA Media was launched in November 2010 by The Chernin Group, a U.S.-based entity founded by Peter Chernin.
 
Prior to joining Viacom18, Kamat was managing director of Endemol India, where he established the firm as one of India’s leading production houses. He has also held positions with Coca-Cola and STAR India, of which Aiello was formerly CEO.
