FleishmanHillard, the global PR and communications company, has appointed Madhulika Ojha as its new managing director for India. Based in Mumbai, she will oversee strategy, operations, and growth across the agency’s India offices, reporting directly to Joanne Wong, president of Asia Pacific and senior partner at FleishmanHillard.
Ojha steps into this role with nearly 20 years of experience in strategy consulting and transformation programmes, including stints at EY, Capgemini, Deloitte, TCS, and Tech Mahindra. Her expertise spans industries from financial services to consumer goods, where she has advised Fortune 500 companies across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
“The FleishmanHillard team in India has built an impressive foundation, and I’m excited to build upon their success,” said Ojha. “The agency's commitment to delivering business-informed, technology-powered communications that drive tangible outcomes aligns perfectly with my professional experience. I look forward to collaborating with the team to help clients transform and grow through strategic communications.”
FleishmanHillard’s emphasis on strategic leadership aligns with Ojha’s credentials in post-merger integration, deal strategy, and financial communications. Wong underscored this alignment, “Madhulika’s expertise offers us growing opportunities to strengthen our position as a trusted advisor. With India’s business and financial landscape evolving rapidly, her leadership will help us navigate this dynamic environment and lead the next phase of growth and transformation for our India operations.”
Ojha’s appointment follows the departure of Munavar Attari, who stepped down as managing director in August 2024 after a seven-year tenure with the firm. He had been instrumental in driving financial performance, client relationships, and business development during his time at FleishmanHillard.
Ojha’s appointment is part of a broader leadership reshuffle within FleishmanHillard. In November 2024, the agency announced a slew of key appointments under J.J. Carter, its recently appointed president and CEO.
As part of its global leadership revamp, Lisa Moehlenkamp became the chief operating officer, Emily Frager is the chief client officer, Mitch Germann is the chief business development and brand officer and Ephraim Cohen took charge as global head of data and digital.
“These appointments are vital to our future,” said Carter. “As we accelerate the modernisation of our firm, fortifying our operations with proven agency leaders and elevating new voices will fuel growth and transformation. With these leaders, we are expanding our intelligence and technology capabilities to become a more dynamic consultancy.”
With nearly 80 offices across 30 countries, India continues to be a high-growth market for FleishmanHillard. It has delivered award-winning campaigns across sectors such as FMCG, healthcare, technology, and financial services, consistently earning recognition as a top performer, including being named Campaign Global PR Agency of the Year three years in a row (2020–2022) and PRWeek U.S. Agency of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
Looking ahead, Wong highlighted the agency’s priorities for 2025 in India and the wider Asia Pacific region: “Our focus is to solidify our position as a business-critical advisor, offering both high-level strategic counsel and robust implementation for clients. Leaders like Madhulika bring greater depth to our capabilities, ensuring we can meet these ambitions.”
As Ojha takes the reins, her focus will likely centre on leveraging FleishmanHillard’s strengths to drive innovation and measurable results for clients. From delivering business-informed campaigns to setting new standards in technology-driven communications, her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the company, as global agencies try to fashion meaningful connections with clients at the heart of their mission, which is becoming increasingly challenging.
