Outlook to roll out four new titles this year

Piggybacking on the current magazine boom in India, Outlook Group has plans to launch four more magazines this year, with a possible fifth as "we don't want to lose the title," said Maheshwar Peri, publisher and president, Outlook Group. While Geo, a science and geography magazine targeting families, will make its debut on June 1 with an initial print order of 50,000 copies; People, a personality driven weekly, will be launched on July 4 with an initial print run of 200,000 copies. Peri remained tight lipped about the titles of the remaining two magazines as well as the genres , though he revealed that they will hit newsstands in August and January 2009 respectively. "We have mastered the art of distribution," said Peri. "Whenever we launch a title, the market can only see that magazine."
The Group currently publishes Outlook, Outlook Saptahik (in Hindi), Outlook Business, Outlook Money, Outlook Profit, Outlook Traveler, and Marie Claire. An in-depth profile of Maheshwar Peri will feature in Campaign's June 6 issue.
