Suresh Selvaraj resigns from Outlook Group

Suresh Selvaraj has resigned as president of the Outlook Group. His notice period is till the end of December 2011.

He commented, "In 1998 when I joined the group, I have added a prefix to my name: Outlook. In 2006, I have added a surname: Marie Claire. Outlook has always been the pride and Marie Claire, the passion. Both these magazines are part of my system  and I have always felt a sense of ownership of these magazines– especially, Marie Claire – it is my baby. I am not naïve to believe that I am indispensable. Outlook Group is very strong with sufficent bench strength to face any situation. I strongly felt that I need to give it a pause after three decades in print media."

On his future plans, he said, "I am here till the end of December 2011. Come 2012, I will take a sabbatical for a few months and shall decide the course of my future."

Maheshwar Peri, publisher of Outlook Magazine and president, Outlook Publishing India, said, "Suresh was a great asset to Outlook and served the company extraordinarily for the last 15 years. We will miss him."

On plans for a replacement, he said, "Yes, we will announce that at the right time."
