Vikram Gaikwad and Vistasp Hodiwala announce ‘Underdog Communications’

Vikram Gaikwad, formerly partner and ECD, Creativeland Asia, and Vistasp Hodiwala, VP and senior creative director, JWT Mumbai, have joined hands to launch their own creative agency in Mumbai, christened Underdog Communications.

Prior to this, the duo have never worked in the same agency. In a prepared statement, they termed the union ‘an interesting experiment from a leap of trust and confidence.’

“We embrace the fact that ideas by nature don’t toe a straight line. Generally, they like to meander, get passed on, go back and forth, ricochet off someone sideways and do the inelegant waltz in our heads. The fledging agency envisions a fearless exchange of ideas, intelligence, infectiousness and expertise and is therefore a joyous shout to like-minded partners and clients to grow their brands in the spirit of togetherness,” the statement added.

Speaking with Campaign India, Gaikwad said, “At the moment we’re just the two of us at the agency and are in the process of hiring people and speaking to clients.”
