Weekend Fun 2: The Lunchbox

The Lunchbox, winner of International Critics' Week Viewers Choice Award at Cannes Film Festival 2013, releases today across India. The film has been written and directed by Ritesh Batra.

The film is based on the accidental friendship that blossoms between a lonely widower on the verge of retirement and a housewife, when the lunchbox she sends her husband is mistakenly delivered to the widower. The film stars Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles.

Jointly produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Dharma Productions, Sikhya Entertainment, DAR Motion Pictures and NFDC, the film is Batra’s debut venture in mainstream commercial cinema.
