weekend plan
My weekend plan: Mansi Trivedi, Saatchi & Saatchi
Apologies for working in the advertising industry and yet stealing from Alicia Keys' song 'New York state of mind' but if we can name our film industry Bollywood, we are allowed to morph any international term to fit our needs, right? This weekend is meant to be special. Since I arrived in Mumbai, India, this is my first weekend dedicated to exploring the cultural muse that the city offers. I’ve spent the last couple of weekends either trying to shrug off the jet lag or trying not to miss bagels for breakfast.
My Weekend Plan: Madhavi Behl
With the long weekend coming up, I’m going exactly where I recommend everyone should be….in gorgeous Go-ah!Why Goa? Because I don't know of any other place that can simultaneously stimulate and numb the senses as effectively. The sunshine, the crispness in the air (at this time of the year only), the colours and the aromas of the food all stimulate, while the mojitos, caiprioskas, port wines and the susegad attitude leave you liquid.
Sports on TV: Winter Olympics, NBA and some cricket at Eden Gardens
Its winter Olympics time, as a long weekend filled with a variety of sporting action awaits us.To start the weekend on early Friday morning there’s the must win 3rd ODI for West Indies against Australia. The match is live on STAR Cricket at 8:50 am.There’s NBA action too. STAR Sports will telecast the San Antonio versus Denver Nuggets game at 9:00 am on Friday.
Find of the week: Kabul Disco by Nicholas Wild
Campaign India Bookshelf brings you a selection of books that you can curl up with, this weekend. We list three choices this week - Kabul Disco, Superfreakonomics and The Men Who Stare at Goats. Each is different from the other in genre, treatment and storytelling. And we assure you, each one is a page-turner. So, happy reading and enjoy your weekend! Do use the comments box below to share details of any gems you've recently found at the bookstore!
My Weekend Plan: Gururaj Rao
Wake up at 12 noon or so. Make myself some tea. Browse through the newspaper. Chit chat with mom about lunch, her Art of Living classes, bitch about the maid who’s been pestering her for a loan since the last three months and other such important things. Talk to dad about his work, blood sugar levels and stuff.
My weekend plan: Nikita Tambay
So, it’s that time of the week again. Unlike my usual weekends, this one seems to begin on a high energy note! To start with, I plan to attend a Salsa FREE trail session near my office on Friday evening. If all goes well and if everyone has survived my attempt to 'dance', I’m going to enroll myself in the dance class. I'm already beaming with this thought!
