The exit of Kamal Oberoi in September 2011 was the biggest development related to M&C Saatchi in 2011. Following Oberoi’s exit, Anjali Nayar became the chief executive officer at the agency, and old hand Rupin Jayal heads their planning side of business. The agency had gained some visibility for their work for Franklin Templeton early this year, and even won a few metals at Goafest 2011. The agency won a Gold metal for their work on Birla Sunlife Insurance. The agency also managed two Silver metals at this year’s event. The agency had a sluggish year in terms of business wins, and the personal care business of Amar Remedies was the only new account that the agency signed up this year. However, media reports published in November suggest that the brand has now decided to work with creative agencies on a project basis.
