Ashit Kukian, chief executive officer, Music Broadcast (Radio City), takes us through what a day in his life looks like

24 hours with... Ashit Kukian

Ever wondered what an ideal day in the life of someone from advertising/marketing/media is? We're here to spill the beans on it.

Every Tuesday, we'll have a person from the advertising/marketing/media industry profiled in this section.

Name: Ashit Kukian

Job: Chief executive officer, Music Broadcast (Radio City)

Professional mantra: Be the best version of yourself.

Personal mantra: Be genuine in everything.

7am: I am not a morning person and hence I don’t like getting up early. (May not be the qualities that successful people carry but I am an exception) I believe in getting an extra out of everything in life, hence I like to grab an extra half an hour of sleep.

7:30am: I coax myself and get out of bed to create beautiful moments for the day. The day begins with customary whats app messages and emails if there are any important things to address. Go through my day’s calendar for the appointments.

7:30 to 8:30am: My customary and elaborate time to freshen myself and catch up on news on my phone.

8:30am: Breakfast, a mix of English and South Indian delicacies as decided by the chief architect of my life – my wife.

9 to 9:45am: Spend time with my fur babies. I have three of them, Chester, Chelsea and Cheryl, and anytime is less for them.

10am: Ready to take on the day.

10am-11am: Phone calls to friends and family as per convenience. In second half, call senior colleagues to discuss important issues and set my day up.

11:15am-2pm: Video conferencing with my Business Heads across markets. Meetings with my HOD’s. Special time allotted to my HR head and coach, because there is so much to discuss for an organisation which is on the transformational mode.

2pm-2:30pm: Lunch, this is the time for home cooked meal largely veg with a non-veg side dish and again decided by my wife (because she knows my food choices the best and hence the menu is set by her).

2:30-2:45pm: A light walk within the office premises (I call this management by wandering around).

2:45-6pm: Again a series of meetings, discussions. Specific time allotted for the strategy and revenue management team to discuss important things pertaining to revenue decisions.

6-6:15pm: A second round of wandering around office. (It helps me in my count of steps to feel nice that I am active).

6:15-8pm: The day can end anywhere between 7:45pm to 8:15 pm, but average is 8pm.

8pm–9:15pm: Doing the rituals of phone calls to family and colleagues – this time it’s the colleagues in the first half followed by family.

9:15–10pm: Play with my babies, and freshen up to relax and watch some videos.

10-11:30pm:  A drink or two, watching interesting content on Youtube across entertainment, food, lifestyle and listening to old Hindi music.

11:30pm: Dinner. Proper food to my liking without any restrictions, because I don’t believe in restraining myself from having things I like.

12am–1am: Combination of messages, mails and Instagram.

1am : I believe that I have earned a goodnight sleep to welcome a bright day tomorrow.
