The Advertising Club Bombay along with The Times Group, the official representatives of Cannes in India, is offering an opportunity to undergraduate as well as postgraduate students this summer to earn the Cannes Lions Academy Diploma.
Applicants along with their identity cards and xerox copies of the first and last two pages of their passport can register for the contest. Having a valid passport is mandatory. Those interested can register at the Ad Club’s Office address - 504, Radhe Vallabh Society, French Bridge Corner, Opera House, Mumbai. The deadline for registration is 29th April, 2009 and the timings are between 10.30 am to 3.00 pm. The registration fee is Rs.200.
Those participating will have to appear for a written test, which will be held on Tuesday, 5th May, 2009. This will be followed by another exercise of creating a theme based advertisement. The test will be conducted at The Times of India office in Kamla Mills Compound. The answer paper and creative will be judged by a panel of top ad professionals.
The names of the shortlisted candidates will be put up on the Ad Club Bombay’s website on Monday, 11th May, 2009 at 3.00pm. The selected candidates will be required to participate in a group discussion and appear for an interview on Friday, 15th May, 2009. The winner will be declared post the interviews on Friday, 15th May, 2009.
The winner will be sponsored for an all-expense paid seven day trip by The Advertising Club, Bombay to the Cannes Lions 2009 festival, alongwith the Cannes Lions BA scholarship involving one week of training starting from 21st June, 2009 to 27th June, 2009.
Those wishing to participate have to fulfill certain requirements. The person should be studying advertising, communications, or marketing with a view to working in the advertising industry; he/she should be fluent in speaking and understanding English and must be between 18 to 23 years of age.
