Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan feature in Tanishq's latest TVC

After recently roping in Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan as brand ambassadors, Tanishq has rolled out its first TVC featuring the couple. The TVC created by Lowe Lintas, shows Amitabh Bachchan wanting to surprise his wife Jaya on her birthday with a diamond necklace. But with the fear of not having enough information about the gift, Amitabh walks into a Tanishq store, where a salesman puts an end to all his fears by giving him all the information required about diamonds. After this he confidently goes to Jaya Bachchan and gifts it to her on her birthday and to impress her further, he passes on all the information the salesman had given him at the time of purchase.

Commenting on the campaign, Sandeep Kulhalli, vice president, Tanishq said, “We at Tanishq continuously strive to delight our customers with wide range of distinct products with intricate designs in line with latest trends. With the growing demand for diamond jewellery category that contributes major part of our sales, our major focus this year will be to offer hi-quality diamond jewellery coupled with exquisite designs. Understanding the lack of awareness amongst customers in choosing right diamonds, we conceived the idea of educating our consumers through the ad campaign.”

On the appointment of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan as brand ambassadors, Kulhali added, “It is indeed an honor for our brand to associate with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. For this ad campaign we needed someone who would reflect the brand's stature and standing, someone who would connect with people across a wide spectrum. The task seemed onerous considering diamonds is a complex subject. We needed to create something that conveyed the desired message in an uncomplicated way. In line with this thought, we zeroed in on the couple, whose combined fan following varies across 6 to 60 yrs of age, and will be desired personalities to reach out to the people easily spreading awareness on this precious jewel.”
