In 2010, Percept/H managed to win major accounts like Gitanjali Group’s Asmi and Shuddhi brands, along with Carlsberg and the Unique Identification Authority of India (Aadhar). The agency continued its work for Toyota and launched the campaigns for Fortuner and other MUVs from their stable. However, the agency also lost some key businesses like MTNL and Beetel. Some of the campaigns the agency worked on, in 2009, included the T20 Cricket anthem for Hero Honda and the Commonwealth Games ‘Jee Jaan Se’ TV and 360 campaign for Sahara. Though the agency had lost a few key people in 2009 and chief strategy officer Sujay Nanavati this year, the agency refurbished its team by hiring Ayan Chakraborty as chief growth officer, Tomomitsu Taue as senior vice president and Rohan Mascarenhas as AVP – planning. Overall, the year turned out to be a modest one with some new accounts and personnel.

How Campaign India rates the agency: 5

How PERCEPT/H rates itself: 6.5

We started the year with a renewed focus on our recent acquisition of Toyota and all the brands in its coterie. Within the first few months we had not only successfully launched the Fortuner, we had also released a film campaign for Toyota’s range of MUVs and were on our way to a corporate film as well. Towards the half way mark in the year, Tomomitsu Taue joined us from Hakuhodo Communications, Singapore as a key force on the brand. With the arrival of Ayan Chakraborty from Saatchi & Saatchi, Percept witnessed a flurry of activity with new business development as a key focus area. It was a proud year for us with wins in both national brands such as UIDAI’s Aadhar, Asmi Diamonds and international ones such as Carlsberg. All in all, we’ll call it a successful year. We look forward to working with all the new talent we’ve recently acquired and on all the interesting work lined up for us on our prestigious new brands.
