D&AD 2016 (Updated): 11 in the race from India, led by BBDO (4) and O&M (3)

2016 could well be the year when India adds to its lone Yellow Pencil (won just last year), and wins its first White Pencil at the D&AD Professional Awards competition.

Eleven Indian entries are among those listed as Pencil winners as on 21 April 2016 (4 pm IST).

These include the Wood (‘In-Book’ earlier) and Graphite (called ‘Nominations’ prior) Pencils introduced last year, in addition to the Yellow, Black and White (Creativity for Good) Pencils. Winners will know what they have won on 19 May, at the awards gala.

BBDO India has four of the Pencils from India this year. Three are for Ariel's 'Share the Load' campaign and one for the 'Touch the Pickle' campaign for Whisper. The 'Share the Load' Pencils are in the Creativity for Good, Integrated & Innovative Media, and OOH categories. 'Touch the Pickle' is in the fray in the Integrated and Innovative Media category.

Ogilvy & Mather is also among Pencil winners. 'Beauty Tips by Reshma' for Make Love Not Scars is nominated in two categories: Creativity for Good and Digital Marketing. In addition to which, #GodSaveTheOcean for Sprouts Environment Trust is among contenders in the Product Design category.

Work on Rajasthan Tourism (‘Logo Reveal’) has won Studio Eeksarus a Pencil in Film Advertising Craft.

Also in Film Advertising Craft, ‘A Giant’s Story’ for Ambuja Cement will be among Pencils this year. The work was created by Publicis Communications and Early Man Films, though neither is specified as entrant in the D&AD tally.

McCann Worldgroup India will bring back one Pencil for its 'Musical Instruments' campaign for Dabur in the Crafts for Advertising category.

An entry titled ‘Two Sisters’ is in the race in Graphic Design. It has been created by Sisterconcern Design Studio.
