Goafest 2013: Creative Abby Jury chairs to decide fate of contentious entries

The Goafest 2013 Creative Abby results were announced on 6 April, but allegations of scam and plagiarism have since hogged the limelight.

Following the allegations and demand for stripping the accused of their awards, Shashi Sinha, chairperson, Awards Governing Council, had convened a meeting of AGC in Mumbai on 15 April.

Speaking to Campaign India after the meeting, Sinha said, “This is an unprecedented affair. Since this is an awards for the industry, we have decided to involve them to be a part of the decision making process. Further to our discussions at the meeting, we are convening a meeting of all the 11 jury chair heads where they will have a secret voting on all the entries for which the AGC has received official complaints against.”

As reported earlier, the Goafest 2013 Abby Awards Governing Council had withdrawn the two Gold and one Silver Abby won by BBDO Proximity for work on client DHL, following a vote on alleged plagiarism.
