IAA to host Knowledge Seminar on retail marketing

Seminar to be held on 20 December in Bengaluru

IAA to host Knowledge Seminar on retail marketing
The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter has announced its next Knowledge Seminar to discuss the future of retail marketing. The event will be held on 20 December at Le Meridien in Bengaluru.

The seminar will be inaugurated by film actor, writer, director, producer and TV host, Ramesh Aravind.

Srinivasan K Swamy, president, IAA India chapter and vice president, Development Asia/ Pacific Region, IAA, said, “IAA Knowledge Seminar offers an excellent opportunity for a discussion on issues of critical importance for advertising and marketing professionals. The retail sector has grown to a great extent across the country, but it’s not been smooth sailing all through. In the recent past, the traditional ‘shops’ have faced some heat from e-commerce players, leading to unique challenges for retail marketers. These and many other issues are going to be discussed at the seminar.”

Anand Sankeshwar, managing director, VRL Media and chairperson of the event, added, "We, at Vijayavani, believe in the state of Karnataka, and retail is an integral part of its economy. The IAA (India Chapter) seminar on Retail Marketing is a platform for every retailer to present his point of view, and learn from the established marketers about how to play on such a competitive field. And we are honoured to be associated with such an endeavour."

Speakers at the even include:

Meera Harish, former VP, Tata Group/Titan
Damodar Mall, CEO, grocery retail, Reliance Retail
Sundeep Nagpal, CEO, Stratagem Media
Charulata Ravi Kumar, CEO, Razorfish India
Sandeep Tarkas, president, customer services, Future Group
