Joono Simon quits Ogilvy; to launch interactive agency

Joono Simon, executive creative director, Ogilvy & Mather, Bengaluru has decided to leave the agency in order to set up his own interactive agency.

Simon had joined Ogilvy in August 2011, after a stint with Leo Burnett, Sri Lanka.

Speaking with Campaign India, he said, "Working with Ogilvy has been a fantastic opportunity. We had a great bunch of brands and we've done some different kind of visible work on brands like Allen Solly, Castrol, Raga, Titan and Fortune Oil. As a space, digital agencies are still to produce qualitative work. There is so much more that could be done, and in that sense, the world is looking for new makers. There are huge opportunities in the space, and that's the attempt with my new agency."

The new agency will be based in Bengaluru. Simon informed that he'll be working with a partner from the advertising industry to launch the agency.

Simon will carry on with Ogilvy until the end of the month.
