Ranbir Kapoor relays messages for Oppo with Karisma, Kareena and mum Neetu's help
Oppo India launched its range of Reno6 Series smartphones with a social media campaign titled #SayItWithRanbir.

Conceptualised by Wieden+Kennedy Delhi, the campaign saw Oppo invite users to send messages they wanted Ranbir Kapoor to deliver via a video.

The final video (above) saw Kapoor deliver those messages and also saw cameos by his mother Neetu Singh and his cousins Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Damyant Singh Khanoria, chief marketing officer, Oppo India, said, "The ability to see that we could take the global #emotionsinportrait idea and use it as a springboard to fast track Oppo into culture was one of the main reasons we picked W+K. The first iteration is a brilliant yet simple social activation that has already engaged the Oppo community and has helped us build the much-needed excitement. I can’t wait for the rest of the campaign to drop.”

Dean Wei, ECD, W+K Delhi, said, “We talked about breaking free of the very linear, literal way most smartphones are marketed, and instead planting the Oppo Reno series into culture in a way that’s as fun, innovative and well-designed as the product itself. A great, differentiated product deserves great, differentiated marketing. That’s why it was also important to utilise Ranbir in a fresh and surprising way, rather than the typical celeb endorsements we see.”

Gautham Narayanan, MD, W+K Delhi, added, “I can’t imagine too many agency-client relationships starting in a pandemic without a single face-to-face meeting, with insane production restrictions. That’s a tough start to any partnership, which makes the work we’ve created even more special and is testament to the two sets of teams and the trust between them.”
